[designer’s comment] These design for iVillage were some of the earliest and most effective efforts at building online brands—iVillage became one of the strongest and lasting online businesses. The design was developed by John Schmitz while at the pioneering web firm he helped found, Interactive Bureau, where Schmitz worked as iVillage’s first creative director. Typography: The primary font used in branding is Bauer Bodoni; the sans-serif font used in labeling is Advert. Georgia and Arial/Helvetica are used as the text fonts.
